Deyon Frantz Knowles in the 1930 US Census
In the 1930 United States Census(click on above image for larger view), Deyon Frantz Knowles is living in the household of his grandfather Wendolin Frantz at 51 Chicago Street, in Salt Lake City, Utah. In this census he is listed in error as the son of his grandparents, with the surname Frantz. His mother, who remarried in July of 1928 to John G. David is also listed in the home.
World War II Memorial, Washington D.C.
In August of this year while attending a conference in Washington D.C., I was able to visit the World War II Memorial. It stands in honor of those brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. Without them we would not have the freedoms we so enjoy. While there I looked for the records of my dads brother Deyon Frantz Knowles. He is the son of Eugene Arthur Knowles and Zelda Lucille Frantz.
The page at right comes from the computer system at the memorial. It documents the record of Deyon Frantz Knowles who died at sea on 16 November 1943. The picture below is of the marker that stands at the entrance of the memorial. No more fitting words could be spoken of these true American heroes. May they rest in peace and never be forgotten.
